Determination is the ability to continue trying to do something, even if it's difficult.
We can compare determination with climbing mountains. When climbing a mountain the goal is usually to reach the top. Consider the top of the mountain your biggest goal. Remember that every mountain has different peaks, and each peak should represent a different goal in your life. The higher the peak, the bigger the goal. It takes time to reach all of them. Don't be discouraged if you stumble along the way. Take a moment. Breathe and Relax. Once you've recovered, get back to it! It's tempting to quit and turn around when the process is long, but don't be discouraged. Everyone has stumbles, how you overcome them is what will make you a winner.
Overcoming obstacles is a part of everyone's life. Nothing is perfect.
- Believe in yourself
- Push through hard times
- Set goals and work towards them
Believe in yourself.
People can always support you, but the most important support to have is from yourself. Believing in yourself means other people will start believing in you too. No one can take that support away from you, all you have to do is believe in your goals and achievements and keep pushing forward. Acknowledge your wins! Even if they seem small, you still did it!
Set goals and work towards them.
Set goals that will motivate you! Set goals for yourself and not for anyone else. When you are motivated by your goal your drive for success and accomplishment will increase, and the chances of succeeding will be higher.
Push through hard times.
What you believe decides what you can and can't do.
Setbacks are learning experiences. Once you've mastered the small "peaks" you keep on climbing to the higher ones. Remember, everyone has their own "mountain". Different people will have different goals, so you shouldn't compare your mountain to someone else.
